Setlists

A setlist puts your songs in the order you'll play them, with the talks between them and the breaks. It adds up how long the set runs, prints a sheet for the stage floor, and has a stage view that shows the lyrics big, one song at a time.

Where to find it

  • Setlists in the rail on the left opens all your setlists. Each card shows the day, the name, the venue, how many songs and how long.
  • Add to setlist… in a song's ⋮ menu (in the editor or on the Songs list) adds that song to a setlist, or to a + New setlist.

Step by step

  1. Open Setlists and press + New setlist (with none yet, it says Plan your next gig).
  2. Name it, and if you like add the Date, the Venue and notes ("Notes: soundcheck, gear, who brings what…").
  3. Add songs from the list on the left. Click a song to add it at the end, or drag it to where it should go. Find a song searches by title; More songs loads the next ones. Songs shared with you are there too, under Shared with me.
  4. Add + Talk for something you'll say between songs, and + Set break / Encore where a new set starts. Give a break a name like "Set 2" or "Encore".
  5. Put things in order by dragging a row by its handle.

Your setlist saves by itself a moment after each change (Saving… / Saved at the top).

Each row

A song row shows its number, name, tempo and key (and time signature when it isn't 4/4), a Note for yourself, and its length. The ⋮ on a row has Open song, Duplicate and Remove. Removed something by mistake? Press Undo in the message that appears.

Lengths

Each song's length comes from, in this order:

  1. The length you type in its row, as minutes and seconds ("3:20"), or just seconds ("200").
  2. Its newest sung take of the whole song, if it has one (see Hear it sung). A Quick preview doesn't count.
  3. An estimate from its lines and its tempo, shown with ≈. A song with no tempo set is counted at 100 BPM; one with no words yet shows "—" and adds nothing.

A talk counts only if you give it a length. The setlist shows its total, and with breaks, each set's length. When any part is an estimate, the total gets a ≈ too.

Print

Print… offers two layouts, then opens your browser's print dialog (which can also save a PDF):

  • Setlist: big, for the stage floor, with numbers, songs, keys, tempos, talks and breaks.
  • Lyrics book: every song's lyrics on a page of its own, with its note.

The stage view

▶ Stage fills the screen with one item at a time on a black background: the song's lyrics as large as fit, its name, tempo, key and time signature, Song 3 of 12 at the top, and Next: … at the bottom ("The end" after the last). Talks and breaks get cards of their own. The screen stays awake while it's open.

  • Next: →, ↓, Space, Page Down, or tap the right third of the screen.
  • Back: ←, ↑, Page Up, or tap the left third.
  • Home / End jump to the first or last item. Esc leaves.
  • A− / A+ make the text smaller or bigger.
  • Count in (for a song with a tempo) plays one bar of clicks at its tempo.

A song too long for the screen goes in pages ("Page 2 / 3"), and Next turns the page before moving on.

Tips

  • Duplicate setlist in the top ⋮ is handy for the same set at a different venue.
  • In the list, ⌘ Z undoes your last change (Ctrl+Z on Windows and Linux), and Option ↑ / ↓ on a row's handle moves it (Alt on Windows and Linux).
  • A song that's been deleted or is no longer shared with you stays in the list as Song not available.
