FAQ

Short answers to common questions. Each one links to the page with the details.

Getting in

How do I get an account?

InnerHook is in closed beta, so you need an invite: an invite code, an invite from the waitlist, or a song someone shares with you. Join the waitlist on innerhook.com. See Sign in & invites.

A link works once, for 15 minutes. If it has expired or was used already, press Get a new link and use the newest email. See Sign in & invites.

Is there a password?

No. You sign in with a link sent to your email, and InnerHook remembers you on that browser until you log out. See Sign in & invites.

Writing

Do I need to save?

No. Every change is saved to your account as you type. If you lose the connection, the header says Offline, changes kept on this device, and the changes are sent when you are back online. See Your first song.

How do I start a new section?

Press Enter twice, or type / at the start of a word and pick a type. Click a section's label to change its type. See Sections.

Does the syllable count work in other languages?

Syllables are counted in English and Finnish. The song's language is Lyrics language in the side panel's Settings; Auto uses the artist profile's language, or guesses it from your lines. See Syllables.

I already have lyrics in other files. Can I bring them in?

Yes. Import on the Songs page takes text, Markdown or Word files, or lyrics you paste, and splits them into sections. See Importing lyrics.

AI and credits

Does InnerHook write my songs for me?

Only if you ask. You can write every word yourself. The writing tools (Rewrite, the Space menu, Reimagine, Autodraft) use AI (Claude) when you choose them, and each one says so in its tooltip. See Autodraft and Selection tools.

What costs credits, and what is free?

Only the tools that use AI cost credits: 1 for a Rewrite or lines from the Space menu, 2 for Ideas, 5 for Reimagine or Autodraft, and Hear it sung by the length of the music. Rhymes, synonyms, your own recordings and all writing are free. See Plans & credits.

What happens when I run out of credits?

The AI tools stop until your month renews, and they tell you when that is. Rhymes, synonyms and everything else keep working. During the beta you can't buy credits yet (Plan & credits says Payments are coming soon): if you need more, email support@innerhook.com. Buying extra credits on Plan & credits comes when payments open. See Plans & credits.

Are my lyrics used to train AI?

No. Your lyrics are not used to train AI models. See Account & privacy and the privacy policy.

Sharing and privacy

Who can see my songs?

Only you, until you share a song. Sharing gives access to that one song, never to your other songs, your artist profiles or your daily pages. See Account & privacy and Sharing.

Can someone read a song without an account?

Yes, if you make a public link in the song's Share dialog. Anyone with the link can read the lyrics; you can turn the link off at any time. See Public link.

I deleted a song by mistake. Can I get it back?

Yes, for 30 days. Open Recently deleted at the bottom of the Songs page and press Restore. Right after deleting, the Undo notice is even quicker. See Your library.
