Reimagine
Reimagine writes a different version of a section, or of the lines you selected. It keeps the theme and the feel but uses new words and phrasing. You see your text and the new version side by side, and you decide what happens next.
Where to find it
- A whole section: open the section's ⋮ menu in the left margin and pick Reimagine ✨.
- Selected lines: select the lines, click Rewrite ✨ in the bubble, then pick Reimagine… ✨ at the bottom of the menu. The price is shown next to it.
You can also type / in a section and pick Rewrite section ✨. This selects the section's text and opens the same Rewrite menu.
Step by step
- Open Reimagine for a section or for your selected lines.
- A dialog opens. Its title says what is being reimagined: "Reimagine Verse 2", "Reimagine lines of Chorus 1" or "Reimagine the selected lines".
- On the left is Current: your text. On the right, "Reimagining…" turns into Reimagined: the new version.
- Choose what to do:
- ✓ Accept replaces your text with the new version.
- ✗ Discard closes the dialog and changes nothing. Esc does the same.
- ↓ Insert below keeps your text and adds the new version under it. For a section, it becomes a new section right below. For lines, the new lines go under the last selected line.
- ↻ Try again asks for another version.
While the dialog is open, the editor waits.
What changes and what doesn't
- A section: you get another version of that section, of about the same length. It's written in the language of the original. If the section is empty, Reimagine writes a new one of that type, for example a fresh bridge.
- Selected lines: only those lines change. The rest of the section, and its type, stay as they are. A line you selected only part of counts as a whole line.
- Lines across sections: each section gets its own new lines and keeps its label. Blank lines inside a section stay where you put them.
- The song's structure never changes. If the new version doesn't fit every section you selected, you'll see "The suggestion didn't cover every section — try again." Accept and Insert below are off until you try again.
Your old text is kept
When you accept, your previous text goes to the section's version history as "Before Reimagine". You can bring it back from there at any time. Accept is also one step you can undo with ⌘ Z (Ctrl+Z on Windows and Linux). See Versions.
About the AI
Reimagine uses AI (Anthropic's Claude). Its tooltip says so: "Reimagine uses AI (Claude) to write another version of this section".
The AI gets:
- the section or the lines
- the whole song as context
- the song brief
- the song's artist profile, if it has one
That way the new version still sounds like your song. Your lyrics are never used to train AI models. See the privacy policy.
Tips
- Reimagine is best when a section works on paper but feels flat. To fix one line or tighten the wording, Selection tools cost less and change less.
- Read the new version for one good line, not a whole replacement. Insert below, take what you like, delete the rest.
- A clear song brief and a filled-in profile make the results more your own.
