Account & credits
Account & privacy
Your songs are yours. They are private to your account until you choose to share them, and your lyrics are not used to train AI models. This page shows the settings you have and who can see what.
Where to find it
Click your initial at the bottom of the left rail. The account menu shows your name, your email address and your workspace, and has:
- Your credits for this month (see Plans & credits).
- Plan & credits: your plan, credits, purchases and history.
- Public profile: your own public page as a writer, off until you turn it on (see Your writer page).
- Email me about comments: a check box (see below).
- Open the last song at start: a check box (see below).
- Log out (see Sign in & invites).
Your settings
Email me about comments
On by default. You get an email when someone mentions you in a comment or replies in a thread you wrote in. You never get an email about your own comments, and at most one email per song every 10 minutes: comments that come in meanwhile are gathered into one. Untick it to stop the emails. See Comments.
Open the last song at start
Off by default. When it is on, opening InnerHook takes you straight to the song you had open last instead of Home. The Home link in the rail still takes you home.
What is private, and what is shared
| What | Who can see it |
|---|---|
| Your songs | Only you, until you share one. Sharing gives access to that one song only. |
| A shared song | The people you shared it with, in the role you gave them: Can edit, Can comment or Can view. See Sharing. |
| A song with a public link | Anyone who has the link can read its title and lyrics, without an account. See Public link. |
| Today's pages | Only you. Daily pages are never shared, not even when you share a song. |
| Your recordings and the song's sung takes | Everyone who can open the song can hear them, and download your recordings. |
| Comments | Everyone who can open the song. |
| Your artist profiles | Only you. A co-writer sees the name of the song's profile, never the profile itself. |
| Your name and email | Co-writers of a song see the name and email of the person who shared it, and the owner sees each co-writer's name and email. A public link shows the owner's name, never an email address. |
Your lyrics and AI
- Your lyrics are not used to train AI models, and neither are your half-finished ones.
- When you use a writing tool, the text it needs (for example the lines you selected, the song as context, its brief and the style of its artist profile) is sent to the AI provider to get the answer. Hear it sung sends the lyrics to its music service.
- Rhymes and synonyms also use AI; they are free.
- An artist profile's name is never sent to the AI, only its style.
The privacy policy says exactly what is sent, to whom, and how long things are kept.
