# Plans & credits

> Plans and credits in InnerHook, a lyrics writing app: Free and Pro, monthly and extra credits, what each tool costs, and your balance.

The writing tools that use AI cost **credits**. Your plan gives you a number of credits every month, and you can buy extra ones. Writing itself, and everything that doesn't use AI, never costs anything.

## Where to find it

- **The account menu** (your initial at the bottom of the left rail) shows **Credits: 340 / 3 000 this month**, any extra credits (**+ 500 extra**) and when the month renews.
- **Home** shows **Credits left** in **The last 7 days**.
- **Plan & credits** in the account menu opens the full page: your plan, this month's credits, your extra credits, Pro, **Buy credits**, your purchases and a history of what used credits.

Sharing songs is not limited by the plan.

## Monthly and extra credits

- **Monthly credits** come with your plan. Your month runs from the day you made your account (or the day your Pro plan started). Monthly credits don't carry over: unused ones end when the month renews.
- **Extra credits** are ones you buy. They are used only after the month's credits, they keep for **12 months**, and you can buy them on any plan. Packs come in **1,000** and **3,000** credits; prices are on the [pricing page](https://innerhook.com/pricing/).

Everything else is free too: writing, versions, Detect structure, the metronome, comments, sharing, setlists and today's pages.

These writing tools use **Claude**, an AI by Anthropic. Hear it sung uses **Eleven Music** by ElevenLabs. Each tool's tooltip says when it uses AI.

### How you are charged

- A tool's credits are taken when you start it. If the job fails, you get them back.
- **Hear it sung** costs by length. The dialog shows the estimate before you start, for example "≈ 2:40 · about 400 credits", and **Quick preview (30 s)** costs 75. The credits for the length you ask are set aside; when the song is ready you pay for the length actually sung and the rest comes back.
- Reimagine's price is shown beside it in the **Rewrite** menu.

## Running out

When the month's credits and your extra credits are used up, the tools say **You've used this month's credits. More on Oct 20 — or get more credits.** The link opens **Plan & credits**. Rhymes and synonyms keep working.

## Daily limits

To protect the service from runaway use, there are loose limits that are not about credits. You will rarely meet them:

> - About **400** uses of the writing tools a day, and **20** a minute.
> - The limit resets daily. The account menu warns you when you are near the day's limit.
> - The messages are **You've reached today's limit. It's back at 03:00.** (in your own time), **That was a lot at once. Try again in a minute.** and, rarely, **The writing tools are resting until tomorrow.**
> - Limits may change during the beta.

## Pro

On **Plan & credits**, **Upgrade to Pro** (or the yearly option) takes you to a secure payment page by Stripe. Before you pay, the app shows the price with VAT and asks you to confirm two things: that Pro starts right away, and that you are 18 or older (or have a parent's or guardian's consent).

With Pro running, **Manage subscription** opens Stripe's page for your card, invoices and cancelling, and **Cancel renewal** stops the next payment: Pro stays until the end of the period you paid for.
